The Reagle Music Theatre’s solid production of THE MUSIC MAN (playing through June 27th) reunites Scott Wahle and Sarah Pfisterer from Reagle’s 2004 production. This time around director Bob Freschi adds some high flying choreography (by Susan Cheboojkian) for the capable chorus, The pyrotechnical hoofing is even more miraculous because they’re costumed in turn of the century three-piece suits and floor to high-neck frocks under wooly coats …without air conditioning on the ninety degree night I attended!
Mary Callanan adds cheeky pizzazz as the Mayor’s over eager wife and Mark Linehan makes Professor Hill’s confidante delightfully daffy. Jeffrey P. Leonard’s exuberant orchestra leads “the big parade” in style, so much so that you want to join those marching “seventy-six trombones,” even in the sweltering heat!
