The latest show at the Granite Theatre is a Las Vegas type glitzy cabaret style show by Two of Hearts. Carol B. Lyon and Audrey Kaiser are the dynamic duo who are Two of Hearts. As Carol says in her introduction, she is the mouth and Audrey is the magic. Carol delivers the comic routines and talks directly to the audience to capture them in her spell while Audrey weaves her magic with her arrangement of over 30 Broadway songs. Both these gals have wonderful vocal skills and their prowess is seen and heard in their fantastic renditions of these wonderful songs. It is definitely a must see show for this summer season in a wonderfully air conditioned theatre.
Some of their showstopping numbers include Eubie Blake's "I'm Just Wild About Harry" which Carol does with a man from the audience, Sondheim's "Broadway Baby" done in counterpoint to his "I'm Still Here" as well as his "Losing My Mind" done with his "Send in the Clowns" with Carol knocking your socks off with her powerful voice as well as her superb rendition of "Swanee" where she reminds you of Judy Garland. Audrey not only arranged all their numbers but accompanies them on a baby grand and synthesizer.
