"A Christmas Memory" is so brilliantly done --- the acting, the set & props, and the MUSIC! Not one word of the Capote story was allowed to be changed. THIS rendition of the story --- exactly as IT is --- is a diamond in the rough. IT ought to be immediately funded and added to Chanel 2's Xmas (fundraising) repertoire --- to be repeated annually.
I am also impressed with the educational program for youngsters. As the skeptical grandmother of one of the Shirley Abromovitz's --- I witnessed not only the commitment of a 9-year-old and the growth in her proficiency from the 1st performance to the 9th, but the support and training of all these youngsters. (The other Shirley was brilliant from the get-go.) The youngsters all -- were magnificent (the rabbi's wife, the virgin Mary, Jesus, Judas...) This skeptical grandmother admits, grudgingly borrowing from the play's dialogue— to "taking a vow": to support this theater in all its future endeavors.
